The Killing Fields tells the reallife story of a friendship between two supporters, an American and a Cambodian, during the bloody Khmer Rouge takeover of Cambodia in 1975, which led to the passing of 2 3 million Cambodians during the next four decades, before Pol Pot's regime had been contested by the reigning Vietnamese in 1979.
