Seeking escape her unhappy marriage, villainous femmefatale Bridget Gregory (Linda Fiorentino) convinces her partner, Clay (Bill Pullman), to promote heroin, subsequently steals the profits and conducts outside . She quits at a tiny town en route to Chicago, where she ensnares her next conquest, insurance man Mike Swale (Peter Berg).
