As a former student activist, Nanni Moretti is now a priest. When Moretti returns to his hometown, he is shocked by the lack of religious reverence he finds there. Not even his own dysfunctional family can help Moretti, who has lost all of his former pals to the Seven Deadly Sins and has no one to turn to for support. He is utterly cut off from the outside world.
