Chicago psychiatrist Judd Stevens (Roger Moore) is suspected of murdering one of the patients when the person turns up stabbed to death while in the exact middle of the metropolis. After repeated efforts to convince cops Rod Steiger and Elliott Gould of his own innocence, Dr.Stevens is forced to follow the actual villains himselfand then he finds himself up against one of the city's most notorious Mafia kingpins.
