After returning from World War I, Chris Baldry's memories of the war have been completely erased. The soldier is so devastated that he cannot even recognize his own wife, Kitty, or recall their years spent together. While Baldry tries to adjust to his new circumstances in his own home, he seeks the companionship of Margaret Grey, a childhood sweetheart who he hasn't seen in years. The fact that he has no memory also makes him a prime target for the attentions of his elder cousin, Jenny.
