Colonel Steve Austin, an astronaut and test pilot, is gravely hurt when an experimental plane crashes. Special prostheses to replace his eye, arm, and both legs have been funded by a secret government agency (OSI). Bionics will make him faster, stronger, and better than normal. In return, they want him to be an OSI undercover agent. Steve Austin's rebuilding will cost $6m.
