A casually racist commanding officer grants Turner (Harry Baird), an African American soldier stationed in France, a promotion and a three-day leave from base. Turner then leaves for Paris and has a brief but passionate romance with a white woman (Nicole Berger). But what will happen to their relationship once Turner's furlough is over?
