A railroad official, Owen Legate concerns Dodson, Mississippi to close down much of their city's railroad (town's main income). Owen finds love with allure and Dodson's flirt, Alva Starr. Alva and Owen then attempt to escape Alva's mommy's (Hazel) clutches and town's resurrection.
