Joe Barrett returns to Tokyo after WWII, where he once owned a bar called Tokyo Joe's and abandoned his wife Trina. They have a seven-year-old daughter. Kimura coerces Joe into piloting war criminals by revealing that Trina broadcasted treasonous propaganda during the war.
