After visiting Pasadena, Texas, country boy Bud Davis starts named Gilley's with Sissy. Their relationship is turbulent as a result of Bud perspective of sex roles, although they wed. Bud tries to acquire Sissy straight back by triumphing at Gilley's mechanical bull riding contest, although jealousy on his competitor, Wes, contributes for their separation.
