Located near the summit of K2, the world's second-highest mountain, Annie Garrett radios for assistance to base camp. Annie's message is heard by brother Peter and assembles a team to rescue her and her group before they cling to the unforgiving elements of K2. But, as Annie places hurt in a icy cavern, the rescuers face their own lifestyles -- and several events that could end the rescue effort.
