A geologist tries to shoot at them and chooses son and his daughter into the Australian outback. When he fails, then he turns the weapon on himself, and the two children should compete with wilderness. They're saved with a chance encounter with an Aborigine boy who shows them just how to survive, and in the process underscores the disharmony between nature and contemporary life.
