Rachel has since been living with Joe and the reunion is awkward, although tony's father Sam, abducted by aliens 36 months earlier, returns to ground and seeks his wife and kid. Joe does not trust Sam, and Rachel can not quite decide what her feelings are for both men. Sam isn't just like when he left, and he begins changing Tony in ways that are frightening.
