During a research trip to Rome, American novelist David Raybourne (Andrew McCarthy) becomes caught up in the Red Brigade's terrorist attempt to kidnap Italian Premier Aldo Moro. Terrorists try to assassinate David and his photographer companion (Sharon Stone).
